The Nightweavers

Weave your webs
Throughout the night
Silken threads untainted
Patterns dance on hedges
Dew-laced webs are painted

Work sweet spinners
Present your work
On branches, rails and trees
Dust autumn through the meadows
Hold up against the breeze

When autumn gales
Blow through the streets
Stripping hedges bare
When all else fails and webs are torn
Tonight you shall repair

For in the dark,
You’ll spin again
A web of silver beams
That fascinate all passers-by
With all that shines and gleams
