Time

Time

~Time~

Do not
waste your time
endlessly navigating
the ferocious tides
of society’s
artificial designs

do not greet
the morning sunrise
with regret or a sigh
as you sell your soul
from 9 to 5
building someone else’s dreams
in a corporate landmine
just to stay alive

do not judge beauty
on what the media defines
to be your primary duty

because truly

your authenticity
exhibits the rarities
and beloved ancestry
of the tree that will lead you
to the roots
that bore your story

why disguise your glory?

do not build
your hopes and dreams
or grand ideals
without first
making a deal with yourself
to turn them into memories
that are real

go

live out your days
with fire in your soul
grasping your liberty
and building goals
that are brave
and wild
and bold

and know

no matter what you are told
by those with riches to behold
ALL of life is precious
rich or poor
young or old

be humble

because
when you are six feet under
when your body meets the coal
your story will remain
but not your gold

and when the time comes by
when you must whisper your last goodbyes
to the birds
the trees
and the iridescent skies

may you greet your final sunrise with a smile

because you lived a life so wild
that you are ready
to expire

From Dawn to Dusk

From Dawn to Dusk

~From Dawn to Dusk~

My soul arose to symphonies,
Upon the growing light of dawn
And all at once, I felt at ease
As stillness saw my spirit born
Unto a brand new thirsty day,
Beneath the day-blind stars above;
My limbs unfurled to golden rays
And vested plans of peace and love.

Today, I’ll seek the peace I crave
In floral meadows built of bliss,
For on this day, I am no slave,
No robot chained unto a desk.
I’ll hop upon a gilded cloud
To seize adventure for my day;
I’ll urge the sun to drop his shroud,
To pour some light upon my way.

In verdant fields, my soul shall sing,
In ruthless winds, I shall not shy,
For secrets buried deep within
Shall rise and free their desperate cries.
I’ll wander over distant dales,
Below a jewel-encrusted sky
As sorrow sheds its sullied veil,
My withered soul shall freely fly.

On rolling hills and raging seas,
On deserts far and mountains high,
My inner joy shall carry me
And all life’s misery shall die.

As twilight trills her closing tunes
And blackbirds steal into the dark,
I’ll sit beneath the sallow moon
To share the secrets of my heart.
Upon the dusk, I’ll whisper thanks
To all that thrives in Nature’s hands;
I’ll thank the stars – their loyal ranks
And all that rests upon the land.

And as I lay me down to sleep,
I’ll be reborn unto the night;
The moon shall have my soul to keep
Until the morrow yields her light.

The Great Escape

The Great Escape

16730304_408196476181481_1586763252329338669_n

Lead me through the rugged fields
Where I shall bow my head and yield
My deepest, secret, solemn prayers
Unto the breeze, my soul shall bear
All that it knows and loves to be
Within the land and raging seas
Throughout the endless universe
My love for life, I shall converse

With wooden staff and furry friend
I shall advance and then transcend
Within a kingdom forged of Gods
A land that selfishness forgot
Beyond man’s fortresses of haste
Lie pristine skies and pools of grace
Esoteric groves and hidden tracks
Rich history remains untaxed

When life is far too much to take
My soul shall seek the great escape
As tyranny tears me apart
Majestic views shall heal my heart
I’ll leave existence for a while
Upon the zephyr, I shall fly
By whispering trees, I shall forget
Life’s misery and deep regret

Upon a single blackbird’s song
I shall recall where I belong
Surrounded by Earth’s sylvan life
Oh, sweet relief from daily strife
Neath cloudless skies, I shall arise
Brush off my tears and desperate cries
I’ll disregard life’s wicked ways
And face the world another day

Peaceful Encounters

Peaceful Encounters

Tonight, may I dream of a faraway land,
A land undiscovered by covetous hands;
I’ll saunter through meadows beneath flawless skies,
Where unwritten wisdom enraptures my eyes.

I’ll sneak through the woods to draw in the crisp air,
Examined by creatures in slovenly lairs;
I’ll rest beneath clouds that inspire fine art,
My head in the cowslip and love in my heart.

The hare shall approve of my peaceful encounters,
He’ll throw me a wink as he hops through the flowers;
The mystical cries of the eagles above
Will summon a feeling of who I once was.

I’ll board a fine vessel to cruise the vast ocean
With nothing but joy as my magical potion;
The stars will put on a magnificent show,
Each one of them bound to my wanderlust soul.

I’ll nurture the child that exists in my being;
A magic that thrives as I keep on believing;
And all of my senses will widely awaken
In Nature’s retreat, my perpetual haven.

Morality

Morality

~Morality~

Ye olden days are dying fast and with them so is pleasure; for endless work and little play make liberty a treasure. What must man do if all he builds are someone else’s dreams? How will he live if all he earns is seized by crooks and thieves?

Gone are the days of honesty, the days of truth and fairness; life rushes at the speed of light, and freedom is a rareness. While crooks and blaggards rest a while, the grafters lose an age. For what? A life of stolen days and insufficient wages.

As I grow old with silver roots, I wish for better days, where fairness and morality drive man to mend his ways. May every child born to the world know of a person’s worth and value every soul that breathes upon this precious Earth.
